Zelenskyy presents Ukraine’s alternatives to NATO membership.

As NATO membership is not currently under consideration for Ukraine, President Zelenskyy asserts that the country should receive another reliable security guarantee – a military force of 1.5 million servicemen.

“We need an army of 1.5 million people if we truly want to prevent a second invasion by Russia after a potential ceasefire. These are the real security guarantees. Putin must understand that if he attempts to initiate a new war, an army of 1.5 million soldiers will be ready for him. If he wants to come and die, so be it,” Zelenskyy stated.

He believes that in the future, this resource can benefit Ukraine’s allies.

“Ukraine may not yet be in NATO, but eventually everyone will want such a formidable army to be part of the Alliance,” the President continued, specifying that the Ukrainian military is preparing to potentially deploy foreign troops within the country.

Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen believes that the simplest way to assist Ukraine in its conflict with Russia is to extend an invitation for NATO membership.
