Zelenskyy in Davos: We need a diplomatic solution to end the war.
It is necessary to achieve a diplomatic means to end the war, but whether the peace will be stable and fair depends on what this diplomacy and security guarantees turn out to be, said President Zelenskyy at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“If diplomacy is strong, after the negotiations Ukraine will have strong security guarantees that will make it impossible for Putin to return with another war, then this will be a stable, fair, strong peace for Ukraine, Europe, America, and the whole world,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president added that if the guarantees turn out to be weak and only verbal, then the world will receive only empty words from the aggressor, and then Russia will attack again, and all the former USSR republics will be threatened with occupation.
Therefore, Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine will not agree to reduce the size of its military, as the Kremlin demands. In addition, Ukraine will not agree to give up on NATO membership, as the Russian dictator will demand during the negotiations.
“The war must be ended not quickly, but fairly,” the president emphasized.
