Zelenskyy has met with the German president and chancellor and seeks to form an air coalition.

During a meeting with his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is counting on Germany’s assistance in supporting Ukraine’s application to join NATO. He also hopes for Germany’s participation in Ukraine’s restoration and support for the next EU sanctions package against Russia.

Zelenskyy also met with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and discussed Germany’s military aid to Ukraine.

“We support Ukraine not only in the humanitarian sphere but also in the political, financial, and military assistance”, Scholz emphasized.

Zelenskyy stated that his foreign visits are also devoted to creating an air coalition of partner countries whose purpose is to deliver Western-style fighter jets to Ukraine.

Moreover, at a meeting with members of the German Security Cabinet, the President of Ukraine emphasized the need to remove restrictions on supplying all types of weapons to Ukraine.
