WPPs are expanding their footprint in Ukraine: State and private companies plan to launch two 600 MW plants in the Ternopil and Vinnytsia regions.

State enterprise Naftogaz Bioenergy is studying the possibility of building a wind power plant in the Ternopil region. A draft memorandum has been prepared that outlines cooperation between the Saranchuky village council and the Naftogaz of Ukraine company for the implementation of wind farm construction projects with a capacity of up to 100 MW.

Naftogaz is already conducting design work to assess the prospects for constructing the Maryivka wind farm in the Mykolaiv region and two facilities in the Odesa region.

The DTEK group is also considering building a large wind power plant in the south of the Vinnytsia region.

“Preliminary calculations show that we can install a station with a 500 MW capacity. We will make a final decision after confirming the system operator’s calculations,” said Oleksandr Selishchev, CEO of DTEK Renewables.

Currently, DTEK is implementing two wind power projects: the Tyligulska wind farm, with a capacity of almost 500 MW, and the 650 MW Poltava wind farm.
