With an opportunity to receive $250,000, Ukraine launches a program to support AI startups in the defense sector.

The Ministry of Defense has introduced the K4 Startup Studio program, which aims to develop military startups using artificial intelligence that can provide a technological advantage on the battlefield.

The priority areas will be:

  1. AI support in decision-making at the operational-strategic level
  2. Instant detection and response to enemy cyberattacks
  3. Neutralization of enemy neural networks, including disinformation, spoofing, and attack models
  4. Management of Shahed drone interceptors

Four teams participating in the program will be eligible to receive grants of $250,000 for each technological solution.

Meanwhile, German AI UAV manufacturer Quantum Systems has acquired a 10% stake in Ukrainian company Frontline, with the option to increase it to 25% within a year. This investment will pave the way for technological collaboration between the two partners. Frontline drones have been encoded according to NATO standards and are used in more than 40 units of the Ukrainian military. In six months, the startup has raised $800,000.

Quantum Systems and Frontline intend to not only create modern equipment but also establish full-scale production in Ukraine.
