Which regions of Ukraine have become leaders in housing construction?

In Ukraine, 7.38 million square meters of housing were built over a year. According to the State Statistics Service, in 2023 one-room residential buildings with a total area of 3.48 million square meters were commissioned. According to the total area of residential buildings put into operation last year, there are five leaders:
- Kyiv region – 1.387 million square meters
- The city of Kyiv – 1.013 million square meters
- Lviv region – 769,400 square meters
- Vinnytsia region – 658,500 square meters
- Ivano-Frankivsk region – 526,000 square meters
In other regions of Ukraine, the total number of finished residential buildings contain 500,000 square meters. The average figure is approximately 150,000-200,000 square meters per region. The closer to the front line, the less housing is built. the Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad are among the least active non-frontline regions.
