Where will the funds from the five-year, $7B support package from Norway go?

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced four key allocations to Ukraine as part of a five-year support package worth NOK 75B ($7.1B). Funds will be distributed as follows:

  1. NOK 135M ($12.79M) is for budget support of the Ukrainian government.
  2. Norway will allocate NOK 3B (over $284.2M) in budgetary support to Ukraine at the beginning of 2024. This support will be provided through the World Bank’s URTF Trust Fund.
  3. NOK 335M ($31.7M) is for additional donations in the form of air defense equipment.
  4. NOK 1B ($94.7M) in co-financing will strengthen the defense industry’s capacity to produce more munitions and missiles.
  5. NOK 137M ($13M) will support the UN’s winter response plan for Ukraine – food and water, warm clothes, blankets, and places for people to stay if their homes are destroyed.
