What will Ukraine receive as part of Germany’s €3B military aid package?

The €3B military aid package to Ukraine, which was approved by the Bundestag, provides for the supply of equipment and materials in both the short and long term, said Steffen Hebestreit, spokesperson for the German federal government. This mainly concerns weapons, some of which need to be manufactured first, while the rest is ammunition that can be transferred relatively quickly.
“First and foremost, we are discussing the IRIS-T systems, which must be produced in the next two years before delivery. We are also talking about missiles for the Patriot air defense system, which must be manufactured first,” Hebestreit added.
Regarding financing, after the Bundestag vote the proposal will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance for consideration, which after verification, must return the submission to the parliament’s budget committee. If approved, the Ministry of Defense will decide on the formation of the aid package itself, which may occur by the end of March.
