Experts from the EasyBusiness NGO and Civitta, within the framework of the Better Market Connectivity of Ukraine to the EU project, conducted a comprehensive analysis of the export opportunities for Ukrainian business to EU countries with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), identifying the most promising industries for further support:
- In the food sector, export growth accelerated to 19% per year in 2021-2023 (versus 12% before the full-scale war).
- Ukrainian SMEs can provide the EU with environmentally friendly wood products, including furniture.
- The electrical equipment sector demonstrates technological potential and production of products with high added value.
- The textile industry shows stable production growth and a high share of SMEs.
- The information and communication technology sector has high potential for internationalization due to its resilience to economic shock and ease of exporting services.
Also among the promising goods for export are: pharmaceutical products, finished metal products, beverages, and vehicles.
By the end of 2025, it is planned to open at least 15 new markets for Ukrainian agricultural products; currently more than 350 destinations have already been opened.
