US Senator: Ukraine needs Western fighter jets to win the war.

 According to a US senator, Republican Jim Risch, he supports the provision of Western fighter jets to Ukraine. However, there is still not majority support for this among members of Congress. Risch noted that air control is necessary for Ukraine to win the war. “I probably represent the most determined group in the US Congress, and I think it’s important to give Ukraine fighter jets and train the pilots. Some say, ‘Oh no, that’s going to escalate.’ But listen, when we fought in Vietnam and Korea, the Russians supplied planes and pilots to our enemies.  It is time for the US to reciprocate. I am ready to vote for such a move. I have met with Ukrainian pilots and believe they can use the F-16. Yes, some training is required, but there are no major problems,” noted the senator. At the same time, Risch admitted that there is not a majority that supports this decision or the provision of Patriot missile systems.
