US aid will help Ukraine to launch a counteroffensive in 2025, but for now, Ukraine continues to lose settlements.

The White House is convinced that the military aid recently provided by the US will contribute to Ukraine’s transition to a counteroffensive, which will be possible in 2025.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said he expects “Russian successes on the battlefield in the near term” despite the new US funding package because there will be no immediate turnaround. At the same time, with new help from the US, it will help “hold the defense” and ensure stability against Russian attacks. Regarding next year, Sullivan said that Ukraine plans to “move forward to regain the territory taken by the Russians.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian intelligence said that the capture of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region by the Russians is only a matter of time. Recently Russian forces broke through the first line of defense, achieving tactical success in the Ocheretyne settlement, and have disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian forces. In addition, the Russians concentrated large forces to attack in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, with the aim of taking control of the city of Kharkiv.
