Updates at customs may slow down Ukrainian exports.
Starting November 7, the rules of cargo control will change. Therefore, companies that did not have time to receive the relevant simplifications and advantages provided for by the Ukraine Customs Code or the Convention on Common Transit regime prior to that date will be forced to present their goods to customs officials. It is noted that the number of companies that received simplification of their processes within the framework of the Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) and the joint transit regime is relatively small.
“However, according to the results from a working meeting in the Ukrainian Parliament Committee on Finance with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the State Customs Service, the business proposal regarding postponing the specified changes, namely the cancellation of simplified declarations of the EA type, was not supported,” the EBA emphasized.
At most, provisions that allowed export cargo not to be presented to customs will be excluded from the Customs Code.
