Umerov presents the Ukrainian defense industry’s achievements: drones, missiles, and ammunition.
Over the past year, more than $4B of Ukrainian arms were produced, and every second piece of ammunition on the front is Ukrainian made. In 2023, the Ukrainian share of ammunition was 18%, and in 2024, it has risen to 41%, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov said.
Ukraine has also significantly increased its long-range capabilities this year. The Ministry of Defense alone contracted over ₴21B worth of drones and another ₴9B in ammunition for them. More than one million drones were purchased through the State Communications Service.
“Ukrainian drones cover more than 1,000 km, fly to Murmansk and Nadvolzhye, and destroy Russian oil refineries and airfields,” Umerov said.
Ukraine was the first in the world to introduce drone swarm technology, and in the last year alone has destroyed or damaged more than 200 targets on enemy territory.
“Thanks to the Ministry of Defense’s DELTA combat system, more than $15B worth of Russian equipment was destroyed,” the minister summarized.
