Ukrainians have received preferential mortgages for UAH 1.2B.
Already, 45,000 Ukrainians have submitted applications to participate in the affordable 3% mortgage lending program through the state company Ukrfinzhitlo. Among them, 936 loans for UAH 1.2B have been issued, said the company’s Chairman, Yevhen Metzger. He specified that the government plans to expand the program in the near future. For all borrower demographics, the basic mortgage lending rate when issuing a loan for 20 years with a 20% down payment will be fixed at 7%. Metzger also noted that Ukrfinzhitlo is currently studying options for attracting additional financing, including from foreign creditors in international markets. He added that another two to four new partner banks might join the program in addition to the five with which the state-owned company already works.
