Ukrainian Railways has increased grain delivery to seaports after grain corridor initiative shipments resumed.
According to top UZ manager Valery Tkachov, during the week the volume of unloaded grain trucks in the ports increased by almost 480% from 92 to 535 wagons per day. In addition, the number of wagons with grain moving toward the ports of Odesa rose from 962 to 2,413 wagons.
According to the Odesa Railway, 23 ships passed their inspection from May 19 to 28. Four vessels are in the inspection area, five are registered for inspection, and 49 are awaiting inspection.
At the same time, the situation in the port of Izmail, which is an alternative for exporting grain cargoes, remains challenging due to a significant accumulation of wagons. The waiting time in the queue at the port this week increased from 25.8 days to 31.8 days. As of May 29, 2,164 wagons with grain loads are moving toward the harbor.
