Ukrainian IT exports in January dropped to their lowest level since the onset of the full-scale invasion.

According to the National Bank, in January 2025 IT export volume fell by 20.7%, totaling $489M. This represented a loss of $128M for the Ukrainian economy compared to December of last year. Furthermore, these figures are down 3.7%, or $19M, compared to January 2024.

As noted by the Lviv IT Cluster: “This January has proven to be the worst since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The challenges posed by the invasion continue to have a detrimental impact on the tech industry. If the war persists, the risks associated with it will only escalate this year. Meanwhile, the IT sector remains one of the largest exporters of services in Ukraine.”

Total export revenue for all Ukrainian services in January of this year reached $1.21B, a decrease of $423M or 25.8% compared to December 2024. Computer services comprised 41.1% of exports, which is a 3.4% increase from January last year when the share was 37.7%, and 1.9% higher than December of last year.
