Ukrainian exporters will get the shortest route to the EU, bypassing Transnistria.
Ukraine and Moldova will build a bridge on the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border, connecting the Yampil (Ukraine) and Koseut (Moldova) settlements. According to the Minister of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov, the bridge will become a critical link in the transport corridor between Kyiv and Chisinau. The Ukrainian exporters will have the shortest route from the center of Ukraine to the countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe, bypassing Transnistria, which the Russians occupy.
The Yampil bridge will become an alternative to the ferry crossing at the Yampil-Koseut border crossing, which has not been operating for several years and has long since failed to meet modern requirements and the real needs of the residents from both states, the ministry explained. The total length of the bridge will be more than 1,400 meters. The structure will have two lanes of traffic with sidewalks on both sides.
