Ukrainian electricity exports in the first half of 2025 increased by 180%.


According to ExPro, Ukraine exported 688,000 MWh of electricity during this period, which is 180% higher than the same period in 2024. A total of 37 companies exported electricity. Among these, the share of state-owned companies – Energoatom, Ukrhydroenergo, the Energy Company of Ukraine, and Naftogaz of Ukraine – accounted for 40% of the export structure. The five largest exporters of electricity in the first half of 2025 included: DTEK Zakhidenergo, Ukrhydroenergo, Energoatom, D.TRADING, and the Energy Company of Ukraine.
Hungary was the largest importer of Ukrainian electricity, receiving 42% of the total volume. Moldova followed with 25%, Romania with 16%, Slovakia with 14%, and Poland with 3%.
Note that in June 2025, Ukraine increased its electricity exports by 150% compared to the previous month, reaching over 237,000 MWh. In the first five months of 2025, 33 companies exported electricity from Ukraine.
