Ukraine’s real estate still attracts foreign investors despite the war. What are they buying?
The real estate market has shrunk significantly, but some foreigners are studying it carefully and are ready to invest in real estate in Kyiv, said the real estate management company Act Service. It is noted that, before the war, more than 70% of all real estate in the capital was bought specifically for investment purposes. Many potential buyers are turning to realtors and investment managers with requests to find properties at a significant discount. The demand for such objects exceeds the supply, often leading to peculiar auctions. In particular, activity is observed among Turkish, Chinese, British, and Japanese citizens. Most interest is shown in commercial real estate, such as commercial space on first floors in the city center (street retail), detached buildings, and plots of land. Liquidity remains the main criterion when choosing real estate. The more attractive the purchase price, the higher the chances of making a quick profit, especially in conditions of market volatility.
