Ukraine’s Peace Formula: What was agreed upon in Davos?
The fourth round of discussions between national security advisers regarding peace in Ukraine, which took place on January 14 in Davos, ended without a clear plan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, said that the participants managed to clarify some issues, but neither Ukraine nor Russia are ready to make territorial concessions. At the same time, he said that Moscow should be connected to the process of peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
In turn, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, suggested creating an International Working Group to conceive a mechanism to withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine. Switzerland and Ukraine’s joint communiqué emphasizes that Ukraine’s security is an inseparable component of global and regional security, and the war against Ukraine is presently one of the most critical destabilizing factors in the world.
The necessary prerequisites for future meetings of global leaders devoted to promoting Ukraine’s Peace Formula have now been established.
