Ukraine’s exports to the EU have decreased by almost 10%.

In January-June, Ukraine exported $10.97B worth of goods to the EU, which is 9.7% less than the same period last year, the Ministry of Economy reported. EU exports decreased the most to neighboring states: Poland – by 25.7%; Slovakia – by 21.3%; Hungary – by 67.2%; Romania – by 50.2%. At the same time, exports to Spain increased significantly, – by 81.1%, Italy – by 24.7%, and the Netherlands – by 22.4%.

“This is a normal correlation that allows us to see trade with the EU without forced transit to third countries. This will allow Ukraine to settle the problems accumulated in relations with neighboring countries. However, even the existing problems indicate that in the last two years, the state has significantly reduced the range of ‘sensitive’ goods in trade to seven. Before the war, these quotas were on steel, which was subject to trade protection, and 36 categories of agricultural goods, which were subject to temporary liberalization,” the ministry says.
