Ukraine’s European partners are increasing their support for the reconstruction: How much money is being provided, and which projects are prioritized?

Ukraine and Switzerland have signed an agreement amending the memorandum between the Ministry of Economy and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), which calls for a 100% increase in funding for reconstruction projects in Ukraine – up to CHF 100M ($116.7M).

This document formalizes Switzerland’s decision to enhance support for its companies that are competing for projects aimed at rebuilding Ukraine, in which Swiss companies already operating in Ukraine and capable of assisting with its reconstruction are participating. An additional CHF 50M will be allocated to projects in civilian protection, infrastructure reconstruction, and the development of the municipal sector, as well as for modernizing public services. These funds are part of a broader program totaling CHF 1.5B for the period of 2025-2028.

Additionally, the EIB is providing Ukraine with €300M for restoring energy and critical infrastructure.

Norwegian businesses also plan to participate in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction and engage in joint investment projects such as ports and maritime infrastructure, as well as the restoration of housing, roads, railways, and industrial zones.
