Ukraine’s demolition waste recycling industry is growing: Where are new facilities being launched?
A construction waste recycling plant has been put into operation in Chernihiv. The UNDP in Ukraine provided the latest equipment in cooperation with international donors, thus supporting the cities most affected by the Russian aggression.
The crushing plant recycles concrete remains – curbs, pillars, etc. Such stations help to remove destroyed buildings faster and more efficiently, crush and sort them by fractions, and reuse construction waste for infrastructure restoration. This reduces the load on landfills and contributes to the environmental friendliness of the restoration process. Among the cities that received the following stations: Chernihiv, Bucha, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv.
As reported by the Deputy Mayor of Mykolaiv, Serhiy Korenyev, the city plans to launch a construction waste recycling plant soon with support from the US and Japan. The enterprise’s capacity will allow it to recycle waste from the Mykolaiv, Kherson, and part of the Kirovohrad region. In addition, Mykolaiv already has equipment that can process demolition waste immediately, at the shelling site.
