After Washington designated its Secretary for Energy to head the US delegation to the Platform, Germany also sent its Minister for Energy, instead of its Minister for Foreign Affairs. They held a joint meeting with the Ukrainian Energy Minister on Aug. 23. Among other questions discussed was the application of the EU’s Third Energy Package regarding the monopoly of Russia’s “Gazprom” in the European market, the synchronization of the energy systems of Ukraine and the EU, and German support to produce “green” hydrogen in Ukraine.
