Ukraine’s allies met in Kyiv to discuss the deployment of a foreign military contingent in Ukraine.

At a meeting of the French and British military chiefs in Kyiv, the parties addressed issues concerning a troop presence on land, in the air, and at sea, along with discussions concerning air defense.
“I believe we will meet weekly at the military level. Our partners already understand what Ukraine needs, including identifying sensitive geographical locations where we seek support. It is crucial that I discussed both strategic matters and quantity today,” said President Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian president noted that many countries are involved in the process, with 12 states prepared to join the coalition of the willing, including France and Britain, as well as the Baltic and Northern European nations. Initial details on how a foreign security contingent could be deployed are already emerging.
“We have been working on this for two months. I believe we need about another month to fully understand this infrastructure,” the head of state opined.
The ISW asserts that a strong Ukrainian army, supported by European security guarantees, remains the most effective way to deter future Russian aggression and ensure long-term peace in Ukraine and Europe.
