Ukraine’s allies introduce new sanctions in response to Russia’s acquisition of Iranian missiles.
Iran’s military support for Russia, including the recent delivery of Fath-360 ballistic missiles, has led the US to impose sanctions on ten individuals and six entities, located in Iran and Russia, that were involved in the arms transfers. Iran Air, based in Tehran, provides both passenger and cargo transportation, and four vessels used to transport weapons were sanctioned.
The foreign ministers of Britain, Germany, and France, in turn, condemned Iran’s supply of ballistic missiles to the Russian Federation and added that they would impose sanctions on those involved in Iran’s missile development program and their transfer.
“This act is an escalation and poses a direct threat to European security,” the ministers stated.
Also, Britain announced new sanctions against the 924th State Center for Unmanned Aviation of the Russian Federation and the Russian Military Transport Aviation Command.
The White House believes that the Russian Federation may use the Iranian ballistic missiles against Ukraine in the coming weeks.
