Ukraine, with the US’ support, will conduct an audit of American financial aid.
The Accounting Chamber and partners from the US have organized two audits of the US’ direct budget support to Ukraine, according to a relevant document from the Accounting Chamber. It is noted that 25 auditors were trained to conduct the audit in July with assistance from USAID and the US Government Accountability Office (GAO).
The first audit concerns salary payments to teachers, employees of higher education institutions, aid to IDPs, support for entrepreneurs who have lost income, and housing subsidies. The second concerns the payment of wages to medical workers.
The document emphasizes that the audit results will be necessary for further international financial support of Ukraine. The results of the audit will be presented to the US Congress.
According to the Ministry of Finance, in 2023, Ukraine received $8.45B in direct budget support grant funds from the US.
