Ukraine will receive an additional €20B in aid from NATO this year.

During a meeting in Brussels, NATO defense ministers confirmed this decision, according to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

“Alliance members have already pledged over €20B in extra security assistance to Ukraine. This support is crucial for enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities against Russian aggression,” Rutte noted.

Meanwhile, Canada detailed its new defense support package, which includes CAD 30M ($21.9M) that will be used to transfer Coyote and Bison armored vehicles to Ukraine. The package also comprises ammunition and modern equipment produced by Canadian defense firms. This contribution builds on a prior delivery of 64 Coyote armored vehicles in December 2024, along with CAD 5M ($3.6M) for electronic warfare systems.

Additionally, last week the Swedish government decided to allocate SEK 550M ($30M) to support Ukraine through NATO initiatives. This funding will be split between two NATO trust funds: SEK 300M will go to the Comprehensive Assistance Package, aimed at purchasing non-lethal military supplies (such as medical equipment, transport, fuel, and food), while SEK 250M will support the Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine fund, which enables rapid procurement of spare parts and services for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
