Ukraine will receive a new loan from the EIB to upgrade public transport

On November 18, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada registered a bill to ratify the agreement “Urban Public Transport of Ukraine II”, which provides Ukraine with a loan of €200 mln from the European Investment Bank. The funds will be used to purchase new buses, trolleybuses, trams, and subway cars. It is also planned to build and modernize tram and trolleybus lines in Lviv and six other cities of Ukraine: Cherkasy, Bila Tserkva, Kamyanske, Dnipro, Kremenchuk, and Zaporizhia. In addition, funds for the purchase of rolling stock of public transport will be distributed among other cities of Ukraine, announced the Ministry of Finance.
