Ukraine will open negotiations on EU accession this spring.

Ukraine may begin the first cluster of talks on EU accession in April, believes Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna. She noted that there must be a consensus in the EU for this step, and Hungary is in no hurry to make this decision. The Ukrainian government hopes that a consensus will be reached soon.

The official added that negotiations on two more clusters can be opened in June if Ukraine provides the necessary roadmaps. “Under the Danish presidency (of the EU, in the second half of 2025), we can also open three more clusters. That is, all of them.”

According to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Ukrainian parliament plans to adopt laws on European integration in an accelerated manner.

“That is, any bill recognized as European integration, to which there are no questions from either the government or the parliament, can be adopted in one reading as law. This will significantly simplify the passage of many bills,” he explained.
