Ukraine will lose its current preferential trade conditions with the EU in June.

The European Commission will not initiate an extension of the autonomous trade measures introduced in 2022 to support Ukrainian exports, which expire on June 5, said EU Agriculture Commissioner Christoph Hansen.
“The current measures will be canceled in any case,” he stated.
However, he noted that new import quotas for Ukrainian goods, which the EC is already preparing, will be more favorable for Ukraine than reverting to the terms of the 2014 free trade agreement that was in effect prior to the Russian invasion. The EU is discussing the possibility of maintaining certain preferences for Ukrainian steel.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Kyiv is actively working to extend the visa-free trade regime with the EU at least until the end of 2025 to allow time for appropriate changes to Article 29 of the Association Agreement. Additionally, the transport visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU was automatically extended for six months, until the end of 2025.
