Ukraine wants to increase electricity export to the EU to 10 GW BY 2050.

Ukraine plans to expand its capacity to export electricity to the EU to 10 GW by 2050, said Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.

“At first, it will be a little more than two GW, in 2032, we plan to increase the electricity export to six GW, and in 2050 to 10 GW,” the minister clarified.

He drew attention to the fact that, according to the forecast, in 2030-2050, some EU countries will be in an electricity deficit. Ukraine has already announced its plans to become a European energy hub.

“To accomplish this ambitious goal, in addition to constructing a generation station it is necessary to have an intersection so that we can physically transmit this electricity,” Galushchenko explained.
