Ukraine secretly received long-range ATACMS and used them last week, while Scholz once again has refused to provide Taurus missiles.

A few weeks ago, the US secretly supplied Kyiv with long-range ATACMS, and last week, Ukraine used them for the first time, the AP writes. The missiles were included in the $300M military aid package that was approved on March 12.

On the morning of April 17, Ukraine launched these missiles for the first time at two air bases in occupied Crimea, which is approximately 165 km from the Ukrainian front line. Also, the long-range ATACMS were used to hit Russian troops in occupied Berdyansk, causing significant damage to the enemy.

US officials said a “significant” number of ATACMS (more than 100) were delivered in March, with more missiles to come as part of a new military aid package announced on April 24.

Meanwhile, during talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Berlin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that his decision remains unchanged: Berlin will not release long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv.
