Ukraine planted 240 million trees in 2021.

59.5 mln of the 240 mln trees were planted under the Green Country presidential program to plant 1 bln trees in three years, which began in the summer of 2021. The trees have been planted in all regions of Ukraine; with the most of the reforestation activity being in the Zhytomyr region (51 mln), Rivne region (29.5 mln), and Volyn region 23.3 mln. 30.3 mln trees were planted in the Carpathians, including 15.1 mln in the Zakarpattia region.
