Ukraine might hold the tank advantage over Russia for the first time since 2022.
For the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, Ukrainian troops might have an advantage in tanks, although only in certain sections of the front.
The main reason for this change in dynamics is drones, which Ukrainian troops have successfully used to destroy Russian tanks at the front line from a distance. Thanks to UAVs, Russian tanks are forced to operate from camouflaged positions, far from the front lines, which significantly reduces their effectiveness. In comparison, Ukrainian tanks can more freely approach the front line and participate in direct combat.
In turn, Russians complain about the intensive electronic jamming of its UAVs by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the Kursk region, Russian troops are using new fiber-optic drones that cannot be blocked by traditional methods of electronic warfare, which allows them to restrain Ukrainian offensives.
At the same time, Ukrainians have successfully begun using the American MQ-35A V-BAT AI reconnaissance drone, manufactured by Shield AI, during combat operations to counter Russian electronic warfare.
