Ukraine is working with the US and UK to reduce the insurance cost for cargo owners moving through the maritime corridor.
Completely restoring the entire operation of Ukraine’s deep-sea ports is the fastest way to improve the economic situation, said Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.
“In this case, the agricultural market earns more, receives a different margin, can compete and invest”. Similarly, the minister explains that the metallurgical industry may increase production capacity over the current volume of 20-30%, providing billions of dollars in foreign currency income and $1.6B in additional income every month.
Currently, a temporary corridor for civilian vessels established by the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has allowed 10 ships with agricultural and metallurgical products to leave the Black Sea ports.
In addition to negotiating with partners to reduce the cost of insurance for cargo owners in Ukraine, authorities are working with allies to strengthen air defense capabilities in the southern regions to protect port infrastructure from Russian attacks.
