Ukraine is working to involve international partners in financing the agricultural land demining market.
Potential partners are interested in Ukraine’s pilot project to establish the demining market for agricultural land through Prozorro auctions. And now the task is to involve them in financing this market to provide for its expansion and replace financing from Ukraine’s state budget, said Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Bezkaravainyy.
“We have conducted the first 20 tenders and are starting to show this algorithm to partners now, and they are interested in it,” he said.
According to him, the state budget for 2025 has allocated only ₴1B for the program that compensates for demining agricultural land, compared to ₴3B in 2024.
“The tool has worked, and we need to develop it further. The task remains to fill this tool with money not only from taxpayers but also from partners,” the official emphasized.
He noted that the program’s development will be helped by the humanitarian demining priority determination project announced at the UMAC-2024 conference with the involvement of the Palantir company and funding from Switzerland and Britain.
