Ukraine is working on the possibility of weapons exportation.
Ukraine has created a working group that will deal with the development of a mechanism for exporting military equipment from domestic factories. Technological Forces of Ukraine, a MilTech association, proposed several norms to officials for the creation of an arms export policy. The idea is to include another body in the control procedure between the manufacturer and the State Service of Export Control, which would analyze each export application and help make the final decision.
“As soon as the working group develops a mechanism that will suit both defense and the business community, it will quickly turn into a legislative decision,” said a working group committee representative.
Ukraine started discussing the opening of arms exports given that the state cannot contract all domestic military production capacity. This year, the maximum volume of the state’s orders is $6B. However, the declared capacity is about $20B.
