Ukraine is switching to solar energy: ₴1B in loans have been issued, and solar panels will be installed on all public buildings.
Ukrainian banks have already approved issuing loans for the installation of solar power systems in households worth ₴1B ($25M), said Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
The Ministry emphasized that solar panels with energy storage systems must be installed on all public buildings in the country by the end of next year to increase the energy independence of critical infrastructure facilities and, in general, every Ukrainian.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine announced intensified programs for installing alternative energy in administrative buildings, hospitals, and schools. Financing will be provided through international aid, non-state funds to support the development of RES and energy efficiency measures.
As of today, more than 6,000 solar panels have already been delivered to hospitals thanks to a donor program and have already been installed on the roofs of many government buildings, including the Ministry of Finance. This will provide 20% of the necessary electricity.
