Ukraine is seeking new investment in its defense sector and enhancing collaboration with German arms manufacturers.

During talks with EU representatives, President Zelenskyy emphasized investment in domestic weapon production, focusing on long-range UAVs, interceptor drones, and similar equipment.

“This is crucial. Russia is investing in unmanned systems and plans to increase drone strikes on our territory. We are developing countermeasures,” he stressed.

Zelenskyy also noted Ukraine’s plans to co-produce weapons with German companies, with three already operational in Ukraine and more expected soon.

Furthermore, Danish Ambassador Ole Egberg Mikkelsen highlighted that Kyiv’s allies are adopting the Danish model – purchasing weapons directly from Ukrainian producers. This approach has proven highly effective, given Ukrainian manufacturers’ available capacity. In addition to Denmark, the EU funds this initiative using profits from frozen Russian assets, along with contributions from Sweden, Norway, Canada, and Ireland. The ambassador concluded that a strong defense industry will give Ukraine a strategic advantage after its victory.
