Ukraine is ready to ensure the transit and storage of natural gas from the Caspian Sea to the EU,
said Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk during the Ninth ministerial meeting of the Consultative Council of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku, Azerbaijan. During the event, the parties discussed the results and plans for increasing gas transportation capacity to the EU. Most EU countries’ gas storage is filled, contributing to increased interest in Ukrainian underground gas storage. The key solution is based on using the existing infrastructure and the capacity of the Trans-Balkan Gas Pipeline. The GTS Operator of Ukraine will have an opportunity to attract new customers for its services at interstate connection points, Kolisnyk noted. He added that Ukraine is interested in implementing the Southern Gas Corridor project and is ready to cooperate in diversifying natural gas supply routes.
