Ukraine is preparing for the first conference on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
Ex-Deputy Minister of Energy and Energy and Climate expert Oleksiy Riabchyn said that all of Ukraine’s demands are contained in 33 negotiating chapters, compiled into six clusters. In addition to Ukraine, Moldova and several Balkan countries will participate in the EU accession conference.i
“During the negotiations, the parties will agree on which laws to implement in 2025-2030,” Riabchyn added.
He says the toughest negotiations will be on government procurement in Ukraine. The official added that the government is forming a negotiation group of 33 deputy ministers, one from each ministry.
It should be noted that earlier, on June 6, at a special meeting of the Committee on the Integration of Ukraine into the EU, the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olga Stefanishyna, stated that Ukraine has fulfilled all the required tasks to begin the negotiations on joining the EU. By the end of June, the European Commission will approve the negotiating framework and hold the first intergovernmental conference.
