Ukraine is preparing a negotiation plan for joining the EU.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that provides for the creation of an Interdepartmental Working Group to ensure a successful negotiation process for Ukraine’s accession to the EU and the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU law, as well as the creation of 36 working (negotiating) groups for the preparation of Ukraine’s negotiating positions under the relevant sections of the EU negotiation framework.
“We have already started the next stage on the way to membership, namely, bilateral meetings within the framework of official screening. We are building a negotiation architecture so that every detail of the complex and bureaucratic mechanism works clearly and harmoniously,” said Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna.
Among the group’s tasks:
- preparation for accession negotiations through the consolidated formation of Ukraine’s negotiating position
- solving problematic issues that arise during the formation negotiation positions
- monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implementing the recommendations in decisions adopted by the European Commission regarding Ukraine
