Ukraine is adapting trade protection legislation to comply with EU regulations, which will strengthen protection for its producers.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the drafts of three laws that adapt Ukrainian legislation in the field of trade protection to EU regulations. The first draft law, On Protective Measures, proposes a new version of the Law of Ukraine, On the Application of Special Measures Regarding Imports to Ukraine. The second is On Protection Against Dumping Imports. The third is On Protection Against Subsidized Imports.
As noted by the Ministry of Economy, these documents expand the possibilities for protection of national manufacturers from unfair and growing imports and reduce business costs for the preparation of materials and documentation during protective investigations. In addition, time limits for procedural stages of investigations are established; consultations are guaranteed at the interested party’s request.
