Ukraine is a priority; the US is looking for more air defense systems to repel Russian attacks.
After the latest massive attack by the Russian Federation, Ukraine will become a priority export market for American air defense systems, US President Joe Biden said. According to him, the US will increase its support for the Ukrainian energy industry after the latest mass shelling.
Ukraine’s allies will send equipment to repair and strengthen damaged energy facilities. In addition, Biden changed the US’ priorities in the export of air defense systems. He claims that air defense will now be delivered primarily to Ukraine. White House National Security Adviser John Kirby confirmed the US’ position.
He emphasized that the US is determined to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense further by providing Kyiv with additional air defense systems. “We are focused on finding interceptors and air defense systems, and not only in the US but also in allied and partner countries,” Kirby said. He added that the US is trying to do everything to secure Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
