Ukraine interrupted the production of Russian Kh-59 missiles in Smolensk, but Iran is preparing to supply the ballistic missiles to Russia.

On October 1, Ukrainian drones attacked the Smolensk Aviation Plant, which produces Kh-59 missiles. According to Ukrainian intelligence, three out of four drones hit the target, causing significant damage to the military enterprise’s production facilities.

“Kh-59 missiles, with a range of 280 km, are used mainly by Russian forces to attack civilian and military targets in Ukraine. The Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions suffer the most from the use of such weapons,” the intelligence agency added.

Meanwhile, according to the ISW, Iran is ready to sell Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar ballistic missiles to Russia. Deliveries may start in October. In return, the Iranians are asking the Russians to provide Su-35 aircraft S-400 air defense systems to help with its space, missile, and nuclear programs. Also, Iran is asking Russia to supply them with Western military equipment captured in Ukraine in order to develop analogs.
