Ukraine increases its foreign trade.


According to customs statistics, Ukraine’s foreign trade amounted to $25.8B in the first quarter of 2023, which is only 7% less than in the same period of 2022. In January, the decrease in turnover amounted to 35% compared to January 2022, and 30% less than the volume from the first two months of the year.
In the first quarter, Ukraine imported goods worth $15.5B and exported $10.3B. The leading exporters to Ukraine were China with $2.6B, Poland with $1.6B, and Germany with $ 1.1B.
In the total volume imported in January-March 2023, 71% of goods were: machines, equipment, and transport ($4.4 B), fuel and energy products ($3.6B), and chemical products ($2.8B).
The top three goods exported from Ukraine include food ($6.7B), metals and their products ($929M), and machines, equipment, and transport ($812M).
