Ukraine has selected 64 projects valued at over ₴2B for the joint Ukrainian Recovery Program with the EIB.

On March 13-14, the expert working group from the Ministry of Development and Trade selected 64 community projects to receive support under the Ukrainian Recovery Program.

By the end of the first day, 35 projects worth nearly ₴1B were chosen for community energy sustainability initiatives. Specifically, projects were identified in the regions of Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv.

The following day, 29 projects for the construction, reconstruction, and major repairs of water supply and sewage systems worth ₴1.1B were approved in the Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, and Kirovohrad regions. A total of €100M was secured for the third phase of the Recovery Program in collaboration with the EIB.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian energy sector’s recovery needs are estimated at around $68B, prompting the government to develop a mechanism for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets intended to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.
