Ukraine has resumed mineral deal negotiations with the US.

Donald Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House, stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is attempting to renegotiate the rare earth metals agreement.
“You know, we’ve done something because, as you know, the Europeans get their money back that they gave them. We don’t,” Trump added.
He once again accused former President Biden of incompetence, highlighting that Biden should have asked Ukraine for rare earth metals or sought guarantees for loan repayment “in some form or another.”
According to CNN, Trump mentioned reports that Ukraine had allegedly linked the signing of the mineral deal to NATO membership. He responded, “First of all, it was never discussed. Second, they were made to understand that they would not be accepted into NATO.”
Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha confirmed that Ukraine and the US have already conducted one round of consultations on a new version of the minerals agreement. Ukraine, he stated, is committed to finalizing an agreement that serves both its national interests and those of the United States.
