On October 18, Ukraine received €2B in macro-financial assistance from the EU to support its economic stability, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced. According to the head of the government, this additional financial resource will help cover urgent budgetary expenses in the social and humanitarian spheres. “These funds are the first part of the €5B package,” Shmyhal noted. Another €2.5B is expected in November and €500M in December. Ukraine has already received €4.2B in macro-financial assistance from the EU this year. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that Ukraine will continue to receive new tranches of macro-financial assistance from the EU.
